Well to add on about CORE-PURE POWER (Disc 6), my core was a bit sore today so there was some work down as well as just good stretching and that is always needed, especially as we get older.
This morning was SCULPT-LOWER BODY BLAST (disc 7). Oh. My. Sakes.
This was the most challenging so far. Because it's mostly standing lower body (with my green band thank you very much) my heart rate was up and I was burnin'!
OK - I'm stepping on my soapbox:
I am starting to see the balance. Workouts should not always be defined as "easy." Sometimes "easy" is necessary. What I mean is - stretching moves may be "easy" but they are also EXTREMELY good for you. Both of my siblings have back problems and they HATE to move. My sister goes to physical therapy and she describes some of the lower back strengthening moves. Well, it's some of the same moves as in PowerFit. Now some might say that's an easy workout because perhaps your heart rate doesn't go up. But, listening to my sister say how HARD they are and how much they wear her out (she hates them), I realize I must not take for granted that strength and flexibility are VITAL to balanced living. So is good nutrition. My brother just had major back surgery and I was telling him he should eat well to help his body heal (He is ordering take-out in the hospital, Burger King, Pizza Hut, yadah yadah). He said the Dr. is giving him vitamins! I was like - YES! I know I'm not crazy!
Without a doubt my favorite Powerfit discs are the barn burners. However, I'm not naive. I know that ALL of them are good for me.
OK, I'm stepping off soapbox.
